When was the last time you cleaned this… 🤔🧹
Spring has nearly sprung!
You know it's spring break when your 9 year old daughter is twerking in the middle of a Bucc-ee's yelling "SPRING BREAK 2023!!!"
(And all of a sudden it's 2004 and you and your best girly just got a fresh acrylic square set, neon green sparkles of course. You've got on 18 layers of Abercrombie, despite the Texas weather hitting up to a whopping 80 degrees by the late afternoon. Ciara's Goodies is blasting in your mom's Ford.)
Whew. I just blacked out in my core adolescent memories 🤣 Anyone else miss the early 2000s? (The y2k fashion can stay tho 👀)
When spring is sprung, something in me releases a beast.
The beast is called WARLORD OF SPRING CLEANING, and god is she fierce 👹
No one is safe in my household from the spring-cleaning-we-dont-need-anyhing-donate-it-all-burn-the-storage-get-rid-of-it side of me. I've always been a neat-freak and VERY organized. I've also never been the kind of person to keep “mementos." A concert ticket? Trash. The shirt I got from donating to a fundraiser? Trash. My first tooth? Trash.
Although I will say the longer I'm a mother, anything related to my children is added to a gold-shrine memory box (and of course it's completely labeled and organized by folders 😉)
Are you the kind of person to save the gum-wrapper with your husband's phone number on it from the first night you met? Or are you more like me?
If you're like me, then you know it doesn't stop with the household!!!
Once the spring cleaning bug gets me, it creeps into my electronics, and my business, and even my email archives get cleaned out, I'm not kidding 🥲 Next thing you know, I've spent 3 hours organizing my iPhone photo albums.
(In my defense, here's how many photos I have on my phone ⬇️🤯)
53,480 photos & videos, including 10,000 useless screenshots of things I will never make, places I will never go, and things I will never buy. #iykyk #serialscreenshotter (Except the current screenshot above which is directions on how to re-seed the grass in our yard… real exciting stuff here, guys).
While some of you might be stressed for me even thinking about all this organizing, you have to admit spring cleaning is necessary in a few ways–and one of those ways is cleaning your business.
Yes, sis, I'm sorry to break it to you but those old proposal templates you have from 2020 can be deleted now. 🙃 Those leads you haven't touched/talked to since 2019? GET RID OF 'EM.
So in the spirit of spring-cleaning…
SPRING REFRESH – CRM EDITION
Whether you're getting ready for Q2, doing a little spring cleaning during spring break, or you just know it's been never since you last organized/audited your CRM… here's a 5-step CRM audit for your to do this month (let's set you up in Q2 with a clean slate):
FORMS
When's the last time you reviewed all of your forms? Maybe you've been using the same contact form for a few years and never touched it… (we've all been guilty of it). It's time to give your forms a REFRESH & REVIEW.
delete/archive all out of use/old forms
review form questions (refresh outdated questions, old information)
refresh any branding, images, graphics
review all copy (look for misspelling, errors, old details)
PRICING & PAYMENT PLANS
Most of us are consistent with updating pricing, but it's ideal to do a major sweep/audit of all pricing, invoices, packages, etc. in your CRM to ensure all items are current and updated, including your upsells, add-ons, and package descriptions/deliverables.
delete old/outdated packages and payment plans
review all package descriptions, pricing, tax info, etc.
review payment plans & relevant reminders
SCHEDULERS
Set yourself up with success in scheduling by reviewing your upcoming calendar, making any adjustments to your schedule, and ensuring all communications align with your current processes.
delete/archive all out of use schedulers & calendars
ensure current calendar connected is up to date
review all upcoming out-of-office dates, add to main calendar
ensure all availability and appointment settings are up to date
review all confirmation and reminder emails
ensure any public/client facing scheduling links are CURRENT (i.e. on your website, IG, etc.)
EMAILS
As your business evolves, so does your language, your processes, and your overall brand personality/voice. It's ideal to review all email copy to ensure any out of date information or language can be reviewed and refreshed, including:
automated emails (responses, appointment confirmation/reminders, follow ups, etc.)
workflow emails & canned email templates
your business email signature
PROJECTS
Keeping your project pipeline clean is a best practice to ensure you know what projects you currently have and where projects/leads are at in your unique processes. If you haven't been manually organizing clients in your pipeline or utilizing automation for this, it's time to:
archive old leads (ghost lead, not good fit, etc.)
follow up with old leads or move to relevant nurture sequences
archive all completed projects
ensure current projects are in accurate statuses
Happy cleaning! I know you'll feel refreshed after you tackle this list ✨

EXPERT SPOTLIGHT
Lawyer Chandler J
One of the biggest questions I'm asked by new and budding business owners is, “Where do I even start with contracts?” And while yes, legal can be overwhelming and confusing, it's so critical to your business. My gal, Chandler, is a spicy lawyer who helps business owners protect their brand. Her contract templates are a great place to start if you're looking for service contracts (the price tag is worth it).
RECENTLY ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB 👀
This past weekend I watched the Team Foxcatcher documentary, and it was so wild my brain hurt after watching it. It's a tragic story you won't be able to keep your eyes off of (I watched the documentary and the movie remake all in one day 👀)
I'm not crazy about awards shows, but you know I will EAT UP those red carpet looks 💃 These Oscar looks are GIVING (Side note: does Nicole Kidman ever age?!)
My family and I are CRUMBL OBSESSED. So when they announced they came out with a new Crumbl card game, you know my daughter and I raced to get it. Is this going to become one of your family staples? 🍪
Show yourself some love today.
YOU'VE EARNED IT.
As always,
Taylor
